For large customers, traffic tunneling is a very effective solution, for example, you do not need a router and firewall in every small store, these services can be created centrally. A solution is also needed by the telecom operator to maintain the same IP ranges and security profiles on different networks.

In some cases, tunnels are also needed to reduce the complexity and increase the security of the L2 LAN.
